Your First Meet

Often the hardest part of a difficult journey are those first few steps. But don’t be put off by this. We have all been in that same situation and our members will make you feel very welcome.

The club has processes to help you become involved and our New Members Secretary will call you for a chat and offer any help and advice when needed, as well as answer any additional questions you may have.

Once you have chosen a meet that you would like to attend, you need to make a booking with The Caravan & Motorhome Club or the Caravan & Camping Club, (these are the clubs we use most) -or the private site where that is indicated in the Programme, then inform the relevant New Horizons contact person ... and make them aware that it is your first meet.

 

Some campsites fill up quickly – especially around school holiday times – so it is often important to book your pitch with the site early – sometimes as much as a whole year ahead!

Many meets now have a specific Whatsapp group for those attending various meets. This often helps with pre-meet questions, allows members attending to share en route information and let each other know what pitch they are on when they arrive. The Whatsapp group is also useful on days out to update visits and share information.

When you arrive on site, simply notify those on the meet’s Whatsapp group of your pitch number on the site or ring the contact person.

 

Many of our Members 'run' meets on a regular basis and are used to helping new members to ensure that first experience is an enjoyable and happy one.
